Best AI Sales Dialers 2026: How to Compare Them Honestly

Best AI Sales Dialers 2026: How to Compare Them Honestly

The best AI sales dialer for your team is the one that turns the most of your dials into conversations with the right people, at a price that makes sense in euros, on numbers that work in Europe. Most comparison pages are written by vendors and rank themselves first. This guide gives you the categories, the criteria and the questions to run your own comparison in a two-week trial.

What "AI sales dialer" actually means in 2026

The label covers very different products. We see four categories on the market.

  • Cloud phone systems: a business line in the browser with click-to-call and basic logging. Built for support and inbound as much as for sales.
  • Power dialers: one line, the next number dials as soon as you hang up. Voicemail detection and auto-logging are the "AI" part.
  • Parallel dialers: 2 to 5 lines at once, you only hear the human who picks up. This is where volume comes from.
  • AI sales dialers: parallel dialing plus the layer around it: which contacts to call (signals), what to say (call prep), what happened (summary, coaching), written back to the CRM.

When a vendor says AI, ask which of these four it is. Voicemail detection on a single line is automation, not intelligence.

Start from your bottleneck, not from a feature list

Pull your last two weeks of call data before you open a single demo. Three numbers tell you what to buy.

Dials per rep per day. Under 40, a power dialer is enough and the money is better spent on data. Above 60, a parallel dialer pays for itself in the first month.

Connect rate. Our analysis of 1,000,000 B2B cold calls in France gives an average of 11.3%, with a range of 11 to 20% depending on persona and time slot. If you are under 8%, your problem is list quality and caller ID reputation, not dialing speed.

Conversations per day. This is the number that drives pipeline. Our north star is 20 conversations per SDR per day. A manual rep in our experience sits between 4 and 8. The gap is the business case.

The 7 criteria that separate dialers in Europe

US comparison pages skip half of these. They matter if your reps call Paris, Berlin or Madrid.

1. Number coverage and caller ID in the EU

Can the tool give you French, German and Spanish mobile and landline numbers, and can it show a genuine local number rather than a spoofed one? Since 2024 French operators authenticate caller numbers and block calls that fail the check. "Local presence" built on spoofing does not work here. Ask for numbers you own.

2. Connect rate by persona and slot

A good dialer shows you that founders pick up around 10am and marketing around 4pm (our benchmark: 4pm connects at 15.8%, 8am at 9.8%). If the reporting stops at "dials and connects", you will never find your best hour.

3. CRM signals, not just CRM sync

Reps use only about 20% of the signals already in their CRM: website visits, job changes, closed-lost deals coming up for renewal, dormant leads. At Sonik, 50% of our own pipeline comes from signals that were already in the CRM. A dialer that reads those signals and builds the call list is a different product from one that logs calls.

4. Write-back quality

Call outcome, recording, summary and next step should land in HubSpot or Salesforce without a rep typing. Check the field mapping during the trial, not after signature.

5. Call prep and coaching

65% of reps open by explaining what they sell. Trigger-based openers reach a 7 to 10% meeting rate against 2 to 3% for pitch-first openers. The dialer should put the trigger on the screen before the call, and tell the rep afterwards what they skipped.

6. GDPR and data residency

Where are recordings stored, for how long, and can you set retention per country? Your DPO will ask. Have the answer before they do.

7. Price in euros, per seat, all-in

Compare the full stack: seat, minutes, numbers, data enrichment. Three tools at a low price each often cost more than one platform. Ask for a quote in euros with minutes to EU mobiles included; US-priced minutes to French mobiles are a common surprise.

How to run a fair two-week trial

Do not compare feature lists. Compare outcomes on the same list with the same reps.

  1. Take one list of 500 contacts, split it at random into two halves.
  2. Two reps call half A with your current setup, half B with the trial dialer, same time slots (10am and 4pm blocks).
  3. Measure conversations per hour, meeting rate per conversation and the share of calls logged correctly in the CRM.
  4. At the end, compute cost per meeting: rep time plus tool cost divided by meetings booked.

In our experience the connect rate barely moves between tools. What moves is conversations per hour (parallel dialing gives roughly 5x) and meeting rate per conversation (prep and signals). Measure those two.

Red flags in vendor comparisons

  • The vendor ranks itself first. Read the criteria, not the ranking.
  • Results quoted as "5x more meetings" with no baseline. Ask for the before and after in absolute numbers.
  • No mention of abandoned calls. Any dialer that dials more lines than it has reps will drop humans. Ask for the abandoned-call rate in writing.
  • No European numbers in the demo. If the demo dials a US number, ask for a French one.

How Sonik approaches AI sales dialing

Sonik is one option in the AI sales dialer category, built in France for European B2B teams. It combines a parallel dialer, CRM signals (website visitors, job changes, closed-lost, dormant leads, social intent) and AI call prep and coaching in one workflow, with write-back to HubSpot and Salesforce.

Sonik AI dialer: the call list with live call statuses and meetings booked
The Sonik dialer during a session: parallel calls, statuses and the running count of meetings booked.

We built it after analyzing 1,000,000 cold calls with Quentin Despas of Katana, because the data showed that the right contact at the right hour matters more than raw speed. Our stated goal for customers is 2x more meetings through 5x more conversations with the right contacts.

Details on modes and pricing in euros are on the dialer page and the pricing page. Run us through the same two-week trial as everyone else.

Conclusion

The best AI sales dialer is the one that moves your conversations per day and your meeting rate per conversation, on European numbers, at a price you can defend to finance. This week, pull your dials, connects and conversations per rep for the last ten working days. That baseline is worth more than any ranking, including ours.
